Written by Dr. Okafor. Mr. Thomas is a Jamaican Canadian Brampton teenage boy who lives with his surrogate mother, (his biological grandmother), Ms. Pauline Thomas. His biological mother, Shantel Thomas had always lived materially and emotionally apart from him having zero involvement in his life and care.

Mr. Thomas visited the clinic one day late in 2016 on a routine care walk-in, after which he took a brief moment to talk to me about a new app project he was working on. It sounded great. Here was a young risk-prone, black young man hoping to better himself against his difficult life odds I happened to know some app developers in the USA and decided to assist him, on his own recognition. This was not only in line with my long practice of community mentoring and sponsorship but was also a way of proving to myself and exercising my loyalty to the principles of forgiveness and compassion that I have always held dearly.

It was thus to his surrogate parent I placed a call to discuss this and get permission to assist him. I only stopped doing so when Shantel started interfering in late 2017 and exploiting it to resume her incessant calls to me. I therefore told Mr. Thomas I could no longer be available as support on his project. Interestingly the old, presumed rested College 2012 issue, 5 years prior, was at this time resurrected with renewed vehemence and vigor, bringing us, in blatantly contrived and malicious installments, to the present day.
